Hello, I’m Natalia, and I’m the heart behind My Military Family.
My husband and I have shared over seven beautiful years together, filled with love and adventure. We’re blessed with three spirited children who keep our days lively, and, as if that weren’t enough excitement, we also welcomed two playful dogs into our home!
When I first met my husband, he was already serving in the military, and I often felt out of place in the military community. Not being married at that time, I struggled to understand the unique challenges and experiences that came with this lifestyle.
I won’t sugarcoat it; this journey has had its fair share of struggles, especially during lengthy separations caused by deployments and work commitments. Nevertheless, every challenge has taught me invaluable lessons and introduced me to some truly incredible people along the way.

Hey!
I’m Ashley. My husband and I have been together for 6 years, married for almost 4. However we have known each other almost 19 years! We didn’t get together until after he was in the military so it was quite a hard adjustment.
Together we have 2 little boys (3 and 1.5) and are living in the Wiltshire area. The hardest part we have found if having to live so far away from family and a support system. But sticking together and leaning on other military partners in our area/groups we manage to get through it.

Hey, I’m Chelsea. I am an army wife and a mam of two. Before having my children, I worked full-time as a beauty therapist, but I had to give it up due to childcare challenges.
I have always known military life; I grew up with my dad in the army, and now my husband serves as well. I started documenting my life and our journey as a military family to keep myself motivated, especially since I often solo parent.
To be honest, one thing I really struggle with in military life is adapting to having my husband home. At first, I’m always so happy and relieved to see him, but transitioning from managing everything on my own to sharing my routine with another adult takes some time to adjust to. I want to share this so that you all know it’s normal to have mixed emotions, and every emotion is valid.

Hi. I’m Emily and my husband is in the Army. We’re currently based in South Oxfordshire. We have 2 boys (7 and 1) and a dog.
My husband re-joined the army when our eldest was 18 months old, after being a civilian for almost 5 years. We married in October 2020 and moved in the November. Soon after we relocated from Lancashire to Oxfordshire, he was tasked to drive ambulances in Lancashire for 6 weeks to help with the pandemic. I was solo, 200 miles away from everything and everyone that I knew and it was HARD.
Now, 4 years, 1 move and a baby later, it’s still hard sometimes but I’ve learned to appreciate the time we do get to spend together. I know it must be just as hard for him to leave us for months at a time too.
It’s not easy to make friends when you’re living this life but I’m happy to listen and be there for people, even if it’s just for a little while.

Hello, I’m Jasmin and my husband is an army reservists. We tackle multitasking between my husbands civilian job as well as meeting his commitment and training requirements within the army; some of the time not leaving room for anything else. As a reservists wife it’s difficult finding and accessing support as you are not necessarily near to your unit or even a base. This can also makes finding a support system hard. We make it work and appreciate any time we get to spend together and with our wee ones.
